Without them many civilizations would not have emerged.
Not showy in the brazen and flashy way, but nevertheless a dominant force in the plant world, an essential link in many ecosystems and a primary producer in our food supply.
We eat their seeds and feed them fresh or dry to our animals in summer and winter. We weave, thatch and build with them. And then for the rest of the ecosphere, they provide the same and more.
